The International Studies Programs at DePaul University and the University of Illinois at Chicago invite graduate and undergraduate students to submit a one-page research paper proposal for the 2013 annual student conference to be held on May 7, 2013.

The theme of this year’s conference is Interventions in the Post-Colonial World. Proposals should address one or more of the themes in the following questions:
- In what ways and on what grounds do state and non-state actors carry out political, economic, social, and environmental interventions?
- What is the nature of the relationships between local actors, including political and economic elites, international institutions, and imperial powers?
- What forms of resistance appear in response to intervention? What are the root causes of these interventions and what are their legacies?
